All the quality of an adult Osprey pack scaled down to fit kids. They use same durable, lightweight and sustainable materials as on my Talon day pack with same construction and attention to detail. This includes cool Osprey features like the lid-lock for attaching a helmet, a loop for hanging a blinky light, and the little whistle built into the sternum strap; it even uses the molded back panel with air channels to keep you cool. It's smaller than I was expecting, and likely too small for most teenagers, but should fit kids about 5 -12 years old. The main compartment is just tall and wide enough to fit my 14" MacBook Pro and has one zippered internal pocket along with a sleave for a hydration reservoir. There are mesh pockets on the hip belt (snacks anyone?) and larger ones on the side that can hold water bottles. I find the large mesh back panel the perfect place to stash a wet rain jacket. 100 dollars is expensive for a back pack that kids will inevitably outgrow, but if you have more than one child, you can be assured that this bag will hold up for years.
